How to choose an SEO company in the US

What to decide before you call, which questions separate one firm from another, and why each of the 13 SEO companies on this list is here. Each was checked against its own site and at least one independent source. Nobody pays to be ranked.

What you are hiring

An SEO company is hired for rankings, technical fixes and content that earns search traffic. The work is slow on purpose. Anyone promising a page-one ranking by a date is selling a thing they do not control.

Split the job in your own mind: technical fixes, new pages, and authority. A firm can be strong at one of those and thin at the others. The specialties and the work samples are how you tell.

Decide this before you call

Write these down before you talk to an SEO company. A vague brief produces a vague price.

  • Say whether you need to be found in one city, in several locations, or nationally.
  • List the pages that already earn traffic, so the firm does not rebuild them for sport.
  • Decide who can publish on the site. SEO dies in a queue.
  • Set a review point at three months for the work shipped, not for a ranking you were promised.

Questions worth asking

Ask each firm the same list. The useful part is the difference in the answers, not a polished version of the question.

  • What will you not promise?
  • Who does the technical work, and who writes?
  • What would you fix in the first thirty days, and what needs a developer we do not have?
  • How do you choose which pages to write, and what does a published page look like?
  • What do you report besides a rank tracker?

Hiring in the US

This is a short list of SEO companies that do the work at a national scale. It is not a directory of every firm in the United States. State and city pages show where the listed firms are based, and only where the list has enough firms to say something.

Hiring across states is normal for this work. Ask which time zone the account runs on, who attends your meetings, and where the people doing the work sit.

What this list shows

13 SEO companies are on this list in the US, re-checked September 28, 2026. Nobody pays to be ranked. They are based in Akron, OH (1); Boise, ID (1); Colorado Springs, CO (1); Lehi, UT (1); Los Angeles, CA (1); Memphis, TN (1); New York, NY (1); Raleigh, NC (1), and 5 more cities.

Where a team size is stated: 1 is 11–50 people, 2 are 201–500 people, 1 is 51–200 people. 9 do not state a size.

12 of 13 state a founding year. The earliest stated year is 1995 and the latest is 2013.

12 of 13 name a leader. 8 of 13 name at least one client. 1 of 13 publish a price. If a profile leaves a line out, no source stated it.

Specialties named by more than one firm: SEO (6); digital PR (4); generative-engine optimisation (4); link building (4); content marketing (3); conversion optimisation (3).

In the list's order: Siege Media, Victorious, Go Fish Digital, iPullRank, Terakeet, Bruce Clay Inc., Portent, HigherVisibility, OuterBox, Page One Power, Big Leap, Intero Digital, Coalition Technologies.

How to use this list

Write the job in one paragraph. Keep the two or three firms whose reason for being here matches that job.

Open each profile. It says who leads the firm, work they can show, and a price if they published one. If they did not publish a price, the profile shows a typical estimate and says it is not a quote.

Then ask each firm for one piece of work like yours, and the name of the person who would do it.

The order weighs how long the firm has done the work, clients it can name, its size, and how clear its specialism is. Nobody pays to be ranked.

One card is marked Featured. It is paid placement for Fracs, which shares this list's publisher. It sits outside the ranking.

If a profile leaves out a leader, a price, or a founding year, no source stated it.

By place

These pages group firms that share a city or a state on this list. A place with one listed firm links from the comparison page straight to that firm's profile.

Free · no obligation

Describe the job. One SEO company writes back.

Tell us what you sell, what is not working, and what done looks like. We read it and ask one provider — from this list, or from the publisher’s bench — to contact you within a business day. Asking is free. You do not have to hire them. Nobody else gets what you wrote.

When

Sending shares what you wrote with the one provider we match you to. How that works.
